Choose a [data plan](#how-does-subscription-based-access-work), [subscription type](#what-are-the-differences-between-subscription-types) and [billing interval](#how-much-historical-data-does-my-subscription-include) in the [order form](https://tardis.dev/#order). 2. Continue to payment, sign in with your email address and pay by card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Quarterly and yearly subscriptions can also be [paid by bank transfer](#can-i-pay-through-invoicing). 3. Ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md) to create an API key, or create one in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account#api-keys), or keep the one you have. It works while your account has an active subscription. ### How do I manage my account? Ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md) connected to your account, or sign in to your [account](https://tardis.dev/account) with your email address. Either way, you can: * start a free trial, or upgrade, cancel or pause a subscription * create, rotate and revoke API keys, and see your data transfer usage * download invoices, and update the payment method and billing details * invite teammates and change their roles What you and your AI agent can change depends on your role: an Owner manages everything, Billing manages subscriptions, invoices and billing details, and a Member manages API keys. ### Can I try the data before buying? Yes, in two ways: * Data for the first day of each month is free for every exchange and data type, as [CSV files](/downloadable-csv-files/overview.md) and through the [raw data replay API](/api/quickstart.md), without an API key. * A [free trial](#how-do-free-trials-work) gives one month of access to 10 days of data from all exchanges. We don't provide samples for other dates. ### How do free trials work? Ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md) to start a free trial, or start one in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account), then create an API key. A trial needs no payment details and doesn't turn into a paid subscription. A trial lasts one month and covers all exchanges for days 1–10 of the previous calendar month (UTC), so a trial started in October covers 1–10 September; the dates can't be changed. It includes [downloadable CSV files](/downloadable-csv-files/overview.md) and the [raw data replay API](/api/quickstart.md), with [20 GB of data transfer](/api/rate-limits.md#data-transfer-limits). Each account and each user can have one trial, and an account that has had a subscription can't start one. ### Do you provide discounts? No, we don't offer discounts. The lower-priced [subscription types](#what-are-the-differences-between-subscription-types) are Solo, for individual traders, and [Academic](#who-can-buy-an-academic-subscription), for students and researchers. ### Do you offer one-off purchases or custom data exports? No. A subscription includes every exchange, instrument and data type of its data plan, so we don't sell single instruments or date ranges, and we don't prepare custom exports. ## Subscriptions and data plans ### How does subscription-based access work? A subscription gives access to new data as it [becomes available](/faq/data.md#what-is-the-historical-market-data-delay-in-relation-to-real-time) and to [historical data](#how-much-historical-data-does-my-subscription-include). When ordering, you choose: * Data plan: [Perpetuals](#what-is-included-in-perpetuals-data-plan), [Options](#what-is-included-in-options-data-plan), [Spot](#what-is-included-in-spot-data-plan), [Derivatives](#what-is-included-in-derivatives-data-plan) or [All Exchanges](#what-is-included-in-all-exchanges-data-plan), which sets the exchanges. * Subscription type: [Academic, Solo, Professional or Business](#what-are-the-differences-between-subscription-types). Academic and Solo include [downloadable CSV files](/downloadable-csv-files/overview.md); Professional and Business add the [raw data replay API](/api/quickstart.md), [Tardis Machine](/tardis-machine/quickstart.md) and the [instruments metadata API](/api/instruments-metadata-api.md). * Billing interval: monthly, quarterly or yearly, which sets [how far back historical data goes](#how-much-historical-data-does-my-subscription-include). ### What are the differences between subscription types? {% hint style="info" %} Academic subscriptions are for students and researchers with a university email address. Students and researchers who sign in with a university email address, such as one ending in .edu or .ac.uk. The checkout checks the address, so there's no application or approval. Academic subscriptions are billed quarterly or yearly, include [downloadable CSV files](/downloadable-csv-files/overview.md) only, and aren't available in China, Hong Kong or India. ### How much historical data does my subscription include? Every subscription includes historical data. How far back it goes depends on the billing interval: * Yearly: 4 years. Business includes all available data, since 2019-03-30 at the earliest ([dates per exchange](/historical-data-details.md#per-exchange-historical-data-details)). * Quarterly: 12 months. * Monthly (Solo, Professional and Business): 4 months. The start date is set when the subscription starts and doesn't move with renewals: a quarterly subscription started on 2026-01-01 includes data since 2025-01-01. After a [pause](#how-can-i-pause-or-resume-my-subscription), it moves forward by the length of the pause. [Paying by bank transfer](#can-i-pay-through-invoicing) adds 3 months of history to quarterly subscriptions and 12 months to yearly ones, so the same quarterly subscription paid by bank transfer includes data since 2024-10-01. Business yearly subscriptions already include all data. ### What is included in "Perpetuals" data plan? All instruments on every [supported exchange](/faq/general.md#which-exchanges-instruments-and-currency-pairs-are-supported), 50+ spot and derivatives exchanges, including [Coinbase Exchange](/historical-data-details/coinbase.md), [Coinbase Derivatives](/historical-data-details/coinbase-derivatives.md) and [Coinbase International](/historical-data-details/coinbase-international.md). It includes every [data type](/faq/data.md#what-data-types-do-you-support), such as trades, order book data, quotes, funding and liquidations, in [CSV files](/downloadable-csv-files/overview.md), and with Professional and Business also through the [raw data replay API](/api/quickstart.md). How far back the data goes depends on the [billing interval and subscription type](#how-much-historical-data-does-my-subscription-include). ### How can I change my subscription plan? Ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md), or choose **Upgrade** in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account). You can move to a higher subscription type, a longer billing interval or a data plan with more exchanges, such as All Exchanges, as long as none of them gets smaller. Before you confirm, you see what you pay now, the new renewal date and the new historical data range. You pay the full difference between the two plans' prices, plus tax. It isn't prorated, so the amount is the same whatever day you upgrade. The renewal date moves only when the billing interval gets longer: a monthly subscription upgraded to yearly renews one year after the start of its current billing period. If you keep your data plan, you keep the history you have now and gain the new plan's [historical data range](#how-much-historical-data-does-my-subscription-include), counted back from the start of the current billing period. If you change the data plan, you get only the new plan's range, so your data can start later than it does now. The new plan starts at once, or when the invoice is paid if you pay by bank transfer. Undo a cancellation or resume a paused subscription before upgrading it, and pay any overdue payment or unpaid invoice first. To move to a smaller plan, or to a data plan without all your current exchanges, [cancel](#how-can-i-cancel-my-subscription) your subscription and start the new one after it ends. The new subscription's historical data range counts from its own start. An [older subscription](#what-is-an-older-subscription) can be upgraded only through an AI agent. ## Payments and invoices ### Can I pay through invoicing? Yes, quarterly and yearly subscriptions can be paid by bank transfer. Choose **Invoicing** in the checkout and enter your billing details to get the invoice. It is due in 14 days for quarterly and 30 days for yearly subscriptions. The subscription period starts on the day the invoice is issued, and data access starts when the payment arrives. Bank transfer also gives [more history](#how-much-historical-data-does-my-subscription-include). If the first invoice isn't paid by its due date, the subscription ends. Renewals are invoiced too. While a renewal invoice is unpaid, data access continues until its due date. To pay a quarterly or yearly subscription by bank transfer from its next renewal, ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md), or update its payment method in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account) and choose **Invoicing**. [Older subscriptions](#what-is-an-older-subscription) can't be paid by bank transfer. ### Which payment methods do you accept? Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Discover, Diners Club, JCB and UnionPay), PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and [bank transfer](#can-i-pay-through-invoicing) for quarterly and yearly subscriptions. Apple Pay and Google Pay appear in the checkout on devices and browsers that support them. We don't accept cryptocurrency. Prices, payments and invoices are in US dollars. ### Can we sign a contract or order form? No. Every subscription is governed by our [Terms of Service](/legal/terms-of-service.md), which include the licence agreement, so there is no separate contract or order form to sign. [Paddle](https://paddle.com/), our reseller and Merchant of Record, is the seller on every order and invoice, under [Paddle's Buyer Terms](https://www.paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms). ### Can I get a quotation document before making an order? No, we don't prepare quotation documents. Prices are in the [order form](https://tardis.dev/#order). For a quarterly or yearly subscription, choose **Invoicing** in the checkout to get an invoice and [pay it by bank transfer](#can-i-pay-through-invoicing). ### How can I get an invoice and VAT refund? Ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md) for your invoices, or open **Invoices and receipts** in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account/billing). Enter your company name, address and tax ID under **Billing details**, and new invoices will use them. Invoices paid by bank transfer also show the purchase order number you enter there. To add these details to an invoice that was already issued, choose **Revise**: the invoice keeps its number, and each invoice can be revised once. Revising an invoice to add a valid VAT number refunds its VAT if it's paid, or removes it if it's unpaid. For an [older subscription](#what-is-an-older-subscription), open its receipt in your account, choose **Add address & VAT Number** and select **This is a business purchase** to enter your VAT number. Paddle refunds the VAT within 12 hours. To keep the receipt as a PDF, print the page to PDF. ### What are your VAT details? Our invoices are issued by [Paddle](https://paddle.com/), our reseller and Merchant of Record, which handles VAT on our behalf. Each invoice shows Paddle's address and VAT number. For an [older subscription](#what-is-an-older-subscription), open the full invoice from the link in Paddle's receipt email. ### I’ve lost my invoice. How do I get a new one? An [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md) can find all your invoices and receipts, including those of older subscriptions, and they're also under **Invoices and receipts** in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account/billing). If one is missing, [contact us](https://tardis.dev/#contact) or with the email address you bought the subscription with. ### What is the refund policy? We don't offer refunds. At checkout you confirm that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once you download or use the data, for example by downloading a CSV file or replaying data through the API. Yearly subscriptions don't renew by default: they [pause](#how-can-i-pause-or-resume-my-subscription) when the paid year ends, unless you choose **Resume renewal** before then. Subscriptions paid by bank transfer renew with an invoice instead, and [older subscriptions](#what-is-an-older-subscription) renew until you cancel them. Monthly and quarterly subscriptions [renew](#does-my-subscription-renew-automatically) until you [cancel](#how-can-i-cancel-my-subscription) or pause them, so cancel before the renewal date if you don't need the next period. ## Renewals and cancellation ### Does my subscription renew automatically? Yes, at the end of each billing period, until you [cancel](#how-can-i-cancel-my-subscription) or [pause](#how-can-i-pause-or-resume-my-subscription) it. Yearly subscriptions pause instead when the paid year ends, unless you choose **Resume renewal** before then. A renewal costs your plan's price plus tax, shown as **Renewal price** next to the renewal date in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account). Subscriptions paid by bank transfer, yearly ones included, renew with an [invoice](#can-i-pay-through-invoicing). An [older subscription](#what-is-an-older-subscription) renews until you cancel it, even a yearly one. ### How can I cancel my subscription? Ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md), or choose **Cancel subscription** in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account). Data access continues until the end of the paid period, and until then you can undo it with **Undo cancellation**. If the subscription is waiting for its first payment, has an overdue payment or is paused, canceling ends it at once. An [older subscription](#what-is-an-older-subscription) is canceled on Paddle's page, and its cancellation can't be undone. You can also email [Paddle](https://paddle.com/), our reseller and Merchant of Record, at with the email address you bought the subscription with and your order number. ### How can I pause or resume my subscription? Ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md), or choose **Pause renewal** in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account). Data access continues until the end of the paid period, and then the subscription pauses instead of renewing. Until then, **Resume renewal** undoes this. **Resume subscription** restarts a paused subscription: your payment method is charged at once and a new billing period starts that day. The start of your [historical data](#how-much-historical-data-does-my-subscription-include) then moves forward by the length of the pause. Yearly subscriptions pause by default when the paid year ends. Subscriptions paid by bank transfer, and [older subscriptions](#what-is-an-older-subscription), can't be paused. ### How can I update my credit card information? Ask an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md) for a link, or choose **Update payment method** in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account), and enter your new payment details. If a renewal payment failed, this also pays it. For an [older subscription](#what-is-an-older-subscription), you update the card on Paddle's page. ### What happens if a renewal payment fails? Your account shows **Payment overdue**. Data access continues until the end of the renewal day (UTC), then stops until the renewal is paid. [Update the payment method](#how-can-i-update-my-credit-card-information) to pay it and restore access. With bank transfer, an unpaid renewal invoice keeps data access until its due date. ### What is an older subscription? A subscription bought through our previous billing system. Its payments show as receipts in your [account](https://tardis.dev/account/billing), and it differs from other subscriptions in three ways: * canceling it or updating its payment method opens Paddle's page, and its cancellation can't be undone * it can be upgraded through an [AI agent](/agents-and-ai.md), but not in your account * it can't be paused or paid by bank transfer --- # Agent Instructions This documentation is published with GitBook.
